Embarrassment has engulfed Deloitte after one of its expensive reports was found to be full of errors, fictional quotes and non-existent academic references.
Why? AI that’s why!
Angry officials at the Australian Government now want a refund after shelling out $300,000 for a report based on bits and bytes of bullsh*t.
So how did it happen?
As well as churning out dull and lifeless copy, AI systems have a tendency to “hallucinate” – a euphemistic technical term for fabricating information. In other words: AI lies like a cheap watch.
Deloitte’s AI tool even quoted from a book that had never been written!
This dog’s dinner of a report sat on a website run by Australia’s Department of Employment and Workplace Relations until a university researcher started spotting wild falsehoods.
So use AI at your peril. Or hire ME! I’ve been writing quality copy for years… without ever hallucinating!
